This is going to be short and sweet: I’m toying around with the idea of making a podcast. I’ve written out a couple things for material, hammered out a few theme songs (I’ve included two of them here–one sounds like a very funky game show LOL), and thought it might be a fun thing to try. I took the advice from one famous podcaster, which was to first and foremost, find your niche.
So I thought: What is it? Should I focus on education because that’s what my degree is in? Or could I talk about raising four little kids and the homeschooling experience? Maybe I should hold a foreign language podcast that details my experience learning Spanish & Portuguese? Should it be Christian centered? I know a little about that. Should I try to make sense of the news cycle? What about a show about wellness? After all, my entire day consists of making sense of the new trends in healthcare. I could talk about writing! Nope. Can’t do that. No one cares about a time-travelin’ adventure that has been read by like 5 people.
My conclusion is that I’m going to just roll with it. I’ll write material, and whatever comes out of it, that’s what it’ll be. What a great strategy! I’ll announce it here on the blog. I think tentatively we can aim for next Monday. I’m interested to see how this plays out. Until then, get pumped for…
